This new listing is really exciting and it’s a high country playground. You are going to love it because it has a small year round creek that runs through this 35 acre alpine property and it has all of those alpine trees that you love like aspens, spruce and fir. The running water is one of those spring fed creeks that is coming off the base of the West Spanish Peak. Check out the video of the running water here on our webpage .
A View of the West Spanish Peak from Spanish Peaks Ranch Estates Parcel 26
Let’s just share this right up front this is a remote property and the access is four wheel drive and it is seasonal. This is that type of property that gives you the feeling of being up in the Colorado mountains by yourself with just a few seasonal neighbors that might be riding their ATV’s and you meet up on the rough cut ranch roads. It is located just minutes from the San Isabel National Forest Entrance that encompass the Spanish Peaks at Cuchara Pass and Cordova Pass.
The temperature will usually always be at least 10-15 degrees cooler than the temperature in Trinidad. So if it is 90 degrees in Trinidad it will be 75-80 degrees up here and it will drop down into the upper 50’s to lower 60’s each night. This is what we are talking about when we think of beating the summer heat when you want to escape from Texas or Oklahoma etc.
The best way to get to this property is by going to Aguilar and then follow the signs for the Scenic Byway for the Highway of Legends past Gulnare and go just past the Concrete arch on the County Road near the entrance to the small acreage lots of Spanish Peaks Ranch. You get to this parcel by passing the entrance on the right and looking for the next entrance/drive to the left. You will not be able to drive in as there is a locked gate just off the county road. You could park off to the side and walk in with good instructions but we are happy to show it to you if you call and schedule a showing with us.
In the summer time you can keep going past this entrance and you will be in the National Forest and if you keep going you will end up going through the incredible Cordova Arch and then on up to the trail head at the West Spanish Peak and if you keep going you will end up on Highway 12 at Cuchara Pass Ranch.
You remember that I mentioned remote don’t you? It’s about 25 miles to Aguilar where you will find the nearest Post Office and local grocery store. It’s another 18 miles in either direction on I-25 to either Trinidad or Walsenburg. My point is be sure to bring the milk and supplies on your way up to the ranch. Oh My…this is just what you have been looking for so best to come now while we can easily get to it this summer and early fall.
