If you love Aspen and Douglas Fir Trees and the High Country near the National Forest then you are going to love this unique property. The tree coverage on the property is mostly Aspen, Spruce, Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine but there are also some Bristle Cone Pine on this property too. Bristle Cone pines are some of the oldest on earth so this is really special to have some on this property.
The elevation of the property is about 10,200 and access to the property is going to be seasonal. The County Roads are not plowed either from the Huerfano County side near Cordova Pass or the Las Animas County Side past the main entrance to Spanish Peaks Ranch Estates.
The current owners have snowshoe’ed in quite a few times. The snow pack is not too bad but since the roads aren’t currently plowed or maintained during the winter you just couldn’t drive in. But I would bet you could certainly use a snowmobile to get there.
There is a small creek or stream that runs down at the lower part of this property just across the Northeast corner of property. You can see the location of the small creek on the Google Earth Topo.
If you like rock outcroppings there are some really special rock formations on this parcel also. One of the nice features of this parcel is that you don’t have to go through a ranch subdivision to get to your property. Even though the County Road access to this property is not plowed or open year round you can access this property by snowshoe or snowmobile if you wanted, just as the current owners have done.
