What a great retirement home! In fact this has been the home of a retirement couple so it is well maintained and cared for. One of the reasons they loved this location is that they were close to the paved county road and they choose this because of their motorcycles. And it’s located just about 3 miles west of Aguilar Colorado and about 4.5 miles from the Interstate 25. So maybe you love to travel and or ride motorcycles also and if so you will love this location just about 1/2 mile off the paved County Road.
You have views of the Spanish Peaks from the house and you are overlooking the Apishapa River valley. You have to cross over the river to get to the house and this parcel is really close to the river which attracts wildlife and makes this parcel great for viewing them. You will see herds of elk and mule deer plus an occasional bear, bobcat or cougar. And the views in the fall are just spectacular when the trees near the river turn colors.
We absolutely love the open design and layout of this home. The living room is light, open and airy and it also has a wood burning fireplace for those cool cozy days when you want to cuddle up and stay warm. You are close to the kitchen and you can see each from the other but it’s not a great room where they are in the same room. It really feels open and cozy and comfortable. You will love the natural light that the transom windows in the kitchen and living room let in and not feel so closed in.
The master bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen, dining so you have some privacy if you are sleeping late. Your major shopping will be in Pueblo which is about 1 hour away on I-25 with little traffic for an easy commute. The ranch is gated but not locked so it does help in discouraging people driving though which is nice. Oh and you are only about 3 miles from Aguilar which has a post office, grocery store, mechanic shop and a few other small businesses so you don’t have to drive all the way to Trinidad or Walsenburg for your basic necessities.
