Trinidad Local Year Round Climate
Trinidad
is situated on the front range of the Rocky Mountains at 6,025' above
sea level and its location near the southern border of Colorado adjoining
New Mexico results in a semi-arid climate with over 300 days of Sunshine
per year. Precipitation in the way of approximately 14 inches of rainfall
and less than 100 inches of snowfall per year makes for a very enjoyable
year round climate.

Weather
extremes are usually scattered and of short duration. Summers are
warm and dry with daytime temperatures in the 80 to 90 degree range.
Mountain Properties surrounding Trinidad will usually be approximately
10 degrees cooler. Because of the elevation, a dusting of snow can
occur as early as mid-September, but it is quickly gone and warm fall
weather often lasts into December. Severe cold is normally of short
duration. Balmy days are also scattered throughout the winter months
so that golf and other outdoor activities can be enjoyed through out
the year. A typical snow will be 3 ,4 or 6 inches and will be gone
in two to three days on roads and southern facing exposure, staying
longer on north facing exposures. The dry air makes both heat and
cold seem less severe than in other parts of the nation which have
more humidity and broader temperature extremes.
